What is the Difference Between Low Impedance and Ultra Low Impedance?
Low impedance refers to the technology that enables the fence charger to continue delivering effective shock sensations even though vegetation or weeds may be in contact with the fence wire. Ultra low impedance fence chargers deliver an effective shock through the most challenging conditions – heavy weeds, and wet or snow covered ground and continue to deliver one electrical burst per second even in the worst ground conditions.
Joule Rating: Output or Stored
There are Two Measurements of Joules: Output and Stored
A joule is a unit of energy. Watt x seconds = Joules. It refers to the energy level of the fence charger and the amount of electricity felt in the single pulse per second generated when the cow or cattle encounters the fence. The higher the volt and amp, the higher the watt. The higher the watt, the more joules delivered per second on the fence line. The important thing to compare when it comes to joules is whether it is output of joules or stored joules. Stored joule energy is approximately 35% less effective than the same number of output joules. When comparing fence charger brands by number of joules, make sure to compare fence chargers by the number of output joules.
Plug-in Energizers by Power Wizard
An energized fence powered by a Power Wizard plug-in model is plugged into a standard outlet and sends an electric current of 100V along the wire fence. When cows, horses or livestock encounter the fence they will receive a jolt of energy at one pulse per second. Unlike a barbed wire that can harm the animal, the single pulse of energy is enough to shock the cow or sheep without doing damage to their hide.
